What the research found
STADA's 2026 Health Report, an independent survey spanning 20 European countries, found 82% open to AI playing a role in their healthcare and 55% already using AI for health matters, with 49% saying they already trust, or would trust, an AI diagnosis. Yet human oversight remains the clear preference: 77% still rely on their GP or another clinician for health decisions, and 38% are explicitly concerned about losing human interaction as AI moves in.
Why it matters for providers
Public appetite for AI in care is real and growing fast across Europe, but so is the expectation that a person stays the final decision-maker, the human-supervised model providers should be building toward, not racing past.
